Activist group arrested after throwing tomato soup at Van Gogh painting

A group of oil protesters, named Just Stop Oil, threw tomato soup at the “Sunflowers” painting of Vincent Van Gogh, located at the National Gallery in London, UK. The two, protesting all new oil and gas projects in the UK, were arrested due to attack on the $84.2 worth painting.

“What is worth more, art or life? Is it worth more than food? Worth more than justice? Are you more concerned about the protection of a painting or the protection of our planet and people? The cost of living crisis is part of the cost of oil crisis, fuel is unaffordable to millions of cold, hungry families. They can’t even afford to heat a tin of soup,” said, one of the activists.

It was stated that the painting was protected by glass and wasn’t harmed.
