A passenger bus fell off a 200-meter cliff near the city of Huancavelica in southern Peru. Twenty-four people lost their lives, and another 21 were injured. Authorities announced the launch of an investigation into the cause of the accident. The bus company announced that it was taking full responsibility for the accident.
Eyewitnesses stated that the road became slippery due to rain, causing the bus to lose control and go off the road as it approached the bend.
