Shishou Milu Deer National Nature Reserve in China has released 400 milu deer, a species strictly protected by the country due to its endangerment in wild, into a brand-new 533-hectare buffer zone.
To increase the population and to preserve it, China has constructed three reserves, including the Shishou Milu Deer National Nature Reserve in Hubei Province The reserve was populated with 64 milu deer brought from overseas in 1990s, and the population has increased to about 2,500 during the past three decades.
