A fire broke out in the playground of a hotel on Cozumel Island, one of Mexico’s most popular tourist destinations. Due to the non-functioning of the fire-extinguishing system and the strong wind, the flames spread rapidly in a short time. The hotel’s residents and employees were evacuated and transferred to another accommodation facility by the national guard.
The hotel was closed after the fire, and no one was injured in the incident.
