The speech of US President Joe Biden at the UN Climate Conference (COP27) in Egypt was interrupted with a protest of the environmentalist group in the hall.
While Biden was addressing his plans to fight climate change, a scream was heard in the living room. As Biden was trying to understand what had happened, the group stood up and unfurled a banner that reads “people vs. fossil fuels”. Shortly after the protest began, the protesters were brought outside by security. Biden continued his speech.
Before the protest started, Biden stated that his administration was committed to making “transformational changes” to reduce carbon emissions and described the US as a reliable, committed global leader on climate.
