Fascinating frames from Iran’s Kendovan region

Kendovan region, located in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, fascinates those who come to visit with its natural beauties and houses carved into rocks. The region shares many similar structural characteristics with Türkiye’s Cappadocia, which is among the country’s top tourism spots.

“This is a place that literally smells history. There are stone houses and caves. The locals of this place live in stone houses. In fact, people are dying to see this region. We also have stone houses in Çukurca. They resemble each other,” said Yüksekova Chamber of Craftsmanship and Craftsman Vedat Çağaç, who came to visit the Kendovan region from Türkiye.
