During a controlled demolition of a mosque’s minaret in Gaziantep, Türkiye, the structure fell uncontrollably and killed the digger operator, Mert Köseoğlu (25), after landing on the construction equipment.
The minaret had been damaged in recent earthquakes, and the decision to demolish it was taken. The tragic incident was captured on mobile phone cameras, and a large-scale investigation has been launched.
