A forest fire broke out in Gangneung city in South Korea’s Gangwon province and spread rapidly due to strong winds. Gangwon Province Governor Kim Jin-tae announced that more than 170 hectares of land were burned to ash. Three thousand people in risky areas were evacuated. Authorities believe the fire was caused by a tree knocking over electrical cables due to the wind.
