A group protested the transfer of illegal immigrants staying in a hotel in Peckham, southeast of London, England, to the Bibby Stockholm barge. The group tried to prevent the bus carrying the illegal immigrants from leaving the hotel. Several police officers were attacked and 45 people were detained during the protest.
“Hosting migrants in hotels costs British taxpayers millions of pounds every day. We won’t let this small group of students posing for social media stop us from doing what’s right for the British people,” Home Secretary James Cleverly said.
