Police Crack Down on Organ Trade Network Involving Israel and Syria

An investigation in Adana has uncovered an illicit ‘organ trade’ ring operating between Turkey, Israel, and Syria. The probe, initiated during a crackdown on fake passports, revealed that Syrian individuals were selling their kidneys for financial gain. The transplant recipients were identified, with one being an Israeli. The scheme involved the use of counterfeit passports under the guise of familial relations with individuals (ages 28 and 68).

The Anti-Immigrant Smuggling and Border Crossings Branch Directorate of the Provincial Police Department recently inspected the passports of seven individuals who arrived from Israel for medical tourism. Among them, two passports were found to be counterfeit. Upon detailed scrutiny of security camera footage from Adana Airport, it was discovered that the purported Israelis were, in fact, Syrian nationals aged 21 and 22.
