On the 2nd death anniversary of the Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani in Iran, ballistic missiles targeting the US military base in Iraq were disolayed. Ballistic missiles that hit the US military base in Iraq, Ayn al-Asad, were displayed at the Imam Khomeini Musalla Mosque, where Friday prayers were held in Tehran. Iranians, who came to the mosque for Friday prayers encountered ballistic missiles “Dezful” and “Zulfikar Basir”, which targeted the Ayn al-Asad military base.

Qassem Soleimani was killed in an airstrike carried out by the USA on January 3, 2020, in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. In response to the killing of Soleimani on January 8, the Tehran administration targeted the US military base in Iraq, Ayn al-Assad, with more than 12 ballistic missiles. While US officials announced that no casualties were reported in Iran’s missile attack, the Tehran administration claimed that at least 80 US soldiers died in the attack.
