The Israeli army prevented hundreds of young Palestinian men from entering the Ibrahimi Mosque in the occupied West Bank to celebrate the Prophet’s birthday. While Palestinians gathered at the mosque entrance in Hebron to distribute sweets and perform religious hymns, Israeli forces increased security checks and specifically blocked young men from entering. Sheikh Ishaq Idris announced the restrictions, stating, “The Israeli army is not allowing hundreds of young people to enter the mosque to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad.” He further called on Arab and Islamic nations to “support the rights of the Palestinian people” and to end the Israeli occupation.
