Japan’s iSpace Loses Connection with Moon Landing Craft During Landing Attempt

The Japan-based iSpace company announced that it lost its connection with the Hakuto-R Mission 1 (M1) spacecraft when it landed on the moon.”We have to assume that we could not complete the landing on the lunar surface,” said the company’s CEO, Takeshi Hakamada, in a statement.

If the spacecraft landed successfully, iSpace would have been the first private company to land a spacecraft on the moon.
