Earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.7 and 7.6 in Kahramanmaraş destroyed 10 provinces. Many historical sites were damaged in Hatay, one of the provinces that experienced the greatest destruction. One of the historical sites is the Italian Latin Catholic Church in the Iskenderun district, which was totally destroyed. The district governorship sent aid to earthquake victims. Additionally, those who live near the church received Spanish aid.
