Number of Evacuees due to Flood Exceeds 99,000 in Kazakhstan

The chaos caused by the flood caused by melting snow and rain in March continues in Kazakhstan. According to the Ministry of Emergencies, 99,920 people have been evacuated so far from the areas affected by the disaster, with 6,566 of them being placed in temporary accommodation centers. Meanwhile, 10,015 people returned to their homes. A total of 3,563 houses were flooded.

President of Kazakhstan Kasım Cömert Tokayev said that there was a possibility of a second flood wave in the Atyrau, Western and Eastern Kazakhstan, Akmola, and Northern Kazakhstan regions.
