A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck northwestern China’s Qinghai province in the evening, killing one person and injuring eight others. The tremor occurred at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers, centering on the Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Region. Following the event, authorities safely evacuated all personnel from schools and coal mines located near the epicenter.
