Pakistan’s Information Ministry announced that overnight precision airstrikes in Afghanistan’s Kunar and Helmand provinces killed 22 militants and destroyed hidden weapon caches. Defending the attacks under Operation Wrath Lil Haq (Righteous Anger), Islamabad stated the mission was necessary to eliminate foreign-backed terrorist networks. However, Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid reported a different toll, claiming the strikes hit civilian areas, leaving nine people dead and 11 wounded. Despite the disputed casualties, Pakistan vowed to continue its counterterrorism campaign at full speed, emphasizing that the safety of its citizens remains its “top priority.”
