Plane stuck more than a decade at airport puts tender for sale

Following the earthquake in Van on October 31, 2011, the cockpit of the Georgian plane was severely damaged when it was hit by a Kyrgyzstani plane carrying aid supplies. The Georgian authorities did not repair the plane, which has been parked at Erzurum Airport since that day.

The General Directorate of State Airports Authority will hold a tender for the sale of scrapped aircraft at Erzurum Airport (DHMI). According to reports, the 4LSKN registered scrap aircraft on the Erzurum Airport apron will be tendered and sold using an open tender method for an estimated value of 400.000 TL ($21,500).
