The receding waters of the Kızılcapınar Dam in Zonguldak, Türkiye, have exposed remnants of an abandoned village submerged for over 30 years.
Built in 1994, the dam forced residents of Ova village to relocate, with some moving to higher ground and others to nearby districts. As water levels dropped, old houses, farmland, and even cemeteries resurfaced. Village headman Osman Sevim noted that some graves were relocated, while others remained lost beneath the reservoir. Authorities have urged residents to conserve water as levels are expected to rise with upcoming rains.
