Two years after the devastating earthquakes in Türkiye, reconstruction efforts in Hatay are in full swing. Aerial footage shows hundreds of buildings under construction and dozens of cranes in operation as the city rebuilds.
The February 6, 2023, earthquakes, with magnitudes of 7.8 and 7.5, killed 53,537 people and injured over 107,000. While container cities still house displaced residents, tents have been removed. Demolition continues near the municipality building, with new structures rising in their place. The city is gradually regaining its former appearance.
