Egypt’s efforts continue to return archaeological artifacts that have been smuggled out of the country illegally, and as a result of the effort by Egypt, Green Sarcophagus was recovered from the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences. Egyptian celebrated the recovering at the party which Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and US Charge of Affairs Daniel Rubinstein attended.
The sarcophagus, which has an exceptional size exceeding 3 meters in length and is made of wood covered with hieroglyphs, belonged to the priest Ankhenmaat and is an ancient relic of Egyptian history dating back to the Late Dynastic period.
