sea turtle nests relocated after typhoon chaba hit southern china

On Saturday morning, maritime protection personnel and scientific researchers in China’s southernmost island city of Sansha, Hainan Province, relocated two sea turtle nests that had been severely damaged by Typhoon Chaba. Staff from Sansha’s maritime protection bureau and researchers from Hainan Normal University relocated eggs from two sea turtle nests to man-made nests on higher ground.

Chaba, the year’s third typhoon, made landfall in Maoming City, Guangdong Province, south China, around 3 p.m. Saturday.
