Settlements were flooded as a result of the river overflowing in El Jalocote, where the water level rose due to heavy rains in the western Mexican state of Jalisco. The floodwaters caused significant damage to roads and houses. Officials from the state of Jalisco announced that eight people have died, and two are missing. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing
