Thailand Thanks Türkiye for Evacuation From Iran

Thai Deputy Prime Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow met with Türkiye’s Ambassador to Bangkok, Jülide Kayıhan, to advance bilateral ties and express gratitude for crucial humanitarian support. During the meeting, Phuangketkeow specifically thanked Türkiye for facilitating the safe return of over a hundred Thai citizens, who were evacuated by land from Iran during recent regional tensions before being flown home. Beyond crisis response, the diplomatic talks focused on an ambitious goal to elevate the relationship between the two nations to a formal “Strategic Partnership” by 2028. To achieve this milestone, the officials plan to prioritize joint security initiatives, establish a Joint Commission mechanism, and boost Turkish investments in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor.
