Three Workers Killed in Iraq as Crane Collapses

A crane, on which eight workers were working, collapsed at a construction site in the Iraqi city of Sulaymaniyah yesterday. Three workers were reported dead, while another was seriously injured. It was stated that the workers had been warned not to approach the area due to a technical problem with the crane the day before the accident, but the work continued the next day. The labor union said the accident resulted from a violation of labor safety regulations. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
