Gelja Sherpa, a Nepali climber, found a Malaysian climber wearily clinging to the ropes in an area called the “death zone” on Mount Everest, where the temperature is -30 degrees Celsius. The mountaineer, who had been waiting for 6 hours, was brought down from an altitude of 8,500 meters.

Nepali tourism expert, Bigyan Koirala, stated that this type of rescue is rare and said, “It is nearly impossible to save mountaineers at that altitude.”

Turkish Defense Minister Güler Holds NATO Meetings in Belgium

Turkish Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler visited NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, to attend the NATO Defense Ministers Meeting.

Upon arrival, Güler was welcomed by Türkiye’s Permanent Representative to NATO Ambassador Basat Öztürk, Permanent Representative to the EU Ambassador Faruk Kaymakçı, Brussels Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Mehmet Özgür Çakar, NATO Turkish Military Representative (TMR) Chair Lieutenant General Kemal Turan, and other officials.

As part of his visit, Güler first met with Türkiye’s NATO Permanent Representation and was briefed on ongoing work. He later visited the TMR Chairmanship and held talks with military representatives.
