The US military has intensified its crackdown on drug cartels by sinking another refueling boat operated by the Los Choneros cartel in the Eastern Pacific. Following an amphibious assault by the Western Hemisphere Joint Task Force, apprehended suspects were handed over to Ecuadorian authorities before the vessel was completely destroyed. US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) stated that these ongoing maritime operations aim to cripple the logistical networks of narco-terrorists in the region. Highlighting the strategy, SOUTHCOM Commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan noted, “We are hitting them at their most vulnerable points: dismantling their complex networks, disrupting their advanced logistics operations, and dealing a heavy blow to their financial resources.”
