US Military Transport Plane Lands in Moscow

A US Boeing C-17A Globemaster III military transport plane has unexpectedly landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport after departing from Riga, Latvia. According to Flightradar24 tracking data, the aircraft originally arrived in Riga on August 23 from the Camp Springs air base near Washington, D.C. Addressing the unusual arrival, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that he had “no information about the aircraft.” This marks the first direct flight from Europe to Russia by a US-registered jet since January, when envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner traveled to Moscow for Ukraine peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
