White House Reschedule Rafah Meeting Amid Gaza Conflict

White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre announced yesterday that the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office has agreed to postpone the Rafah meeting. This development comes amidst ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip for 174 days and efforts to halt Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plans for Rafah. The United States’ decision to abstain from vetoing a UN Security Council resolution for a Gaza ceasefire and Netanyahu’s move to prevent the Israeli delegation from attending the Rafah meeting in Washington have garnered attention. Jean-Pierre highlighted constructive talks during Israeli Defense Minister Yaov Gallant’s visit to Washington and mentioned discussions on Rafah. The White House is now collaborating with Israel to find a suitable date for the rescheduled meeting.
