A hundred tons of dead fish taken out from Poland’s River Oder

The ecological disaster in River Oder continues. Poland Fire Department stated that 100 tons of dead fish were moved out from the river since last Friday. Fire Department officer said “We have never performed such a big operation.” More than 500 firefighter and many boats and drones are still on their duty to clear the river. The cause of the disaster is still being analyzed.

River Oder is currently known for the chemical pollution. Polish President Mateusz Morawiecki stated that “large amount of chemical waste” enough to lead to an environmental disaster, which may take years to recover, was knowingly emptied into the river. Morawiecki also promised to find the responsible of the incident.
