Building Damaged By Israel Collapses in Gaza: 12 Killed

The death toll from the collapse of a damaged seven-story building in Gaza has risen to 12, including five children, while nearly 100 people remain trapped under the rubble. Displaced families had been sheltering in the previously bombed structure due to a severe lack of alternative housing across the region. Search and rescue operations are struggling under harsh conditions as rescue teams attempt to dig out survivors with limited heavy machinery. Remaining hopeful despite the immense challenges, Gaza City Civil Defense head Raed Al-Dahshan stated, “Voices are still coming from under the rubble, so there is still hope of finding people.” Humanitarian officials warn that approximately 400 other severely damaged buildings in Gaza pose a similar collapse risk as winter approaches.
