Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has arrived in the Kazakh city of Turkestan to attend the Informal Summit of Turkic States. The gathering brings together regional leaders from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to discuss ongoing cooperation and development. Shortly after arriving from Astana alongside his wife, Emine Erdoğan, the president engaged in bilateral discussions, including a key meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Beyond diplomatic talks, Erdoğan’s itinerary features cultural stops at the historic Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and a capsule-laying ceremony for the new Turkic Civilization Center. Following a presentation on regional digital initiatives and the final summit sessions, the Turkish delegation will conclude their visit and return home.
