World most expensive house in Italy left unsold

Built in the 16th century in Italy’s capital city of Rome and owned by an Italian family, Villa Aurora was put up for sale in an auction that being called “the auction of the century” in Italy. The opening price of Villa Aurora was determined as 353 million Euros in the online auction. The auction started with a opening price of 353 million Euros and estimated value of 471 million Euros. However, it was announced that no bids have been made to date for the auction. the opening price of the villa will be reduced by 20 percent and the villa will be put up for sale in April 7 for 282.600.000 Euros.

If the sale of Villa Aurora is completed, the villa will be one of the most expensive houses in the world. The villa has that high value due to the fact that it houses the 1597 fresco of the Italian painter Caravaggio. Meanwhile, it was stated in the Italian press that Bill Gates and the Sultan of Brunei are among the suitors of the villa.
